CANDACE BYINGTON
May 2010: Way Public Library
Way Library (lower level) 101 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg, OH
Candace Byington earned a BFA in two dimensional studies from Bowling Green State University. As part of her course of studies, she studied figure drawing and printmaking. While attending BGSU, Candace fostered an appreciation of the Spanish language and culture, which has provided inspiration for her art.
Candace spent one summer studying Mexican muralism and pop culture in Guadalajara and Mexico City. The experience influenced her use of color and inspired an on going series about day of the dead and artist Frida Kahlo. Other themes in her art include flowers, sunsets, lily ponds, and belly-dancers.
A Perrysburg resident, Candace is currently a graphic artist at Custom Deco LLC in Toledo and a student at Davis College in graphic design. To contact the artist or view more of her artwork, visit her website.
