Artist Statement:
I was born and raised in Park Ridge and attended Maine Township High School. I continued my education at Eastern Illinois University earning a B.S. in Education and M.S. in Education and have since taught elementary art in Illinois, Indiana. and Ohio.
My husband Jim and I lived in Perrysburg for over 18 years. During that time I enjoyed teaching evening watercolor classes with the Perrysburg Community Education and was a member of PAAC and TAC. I have exhibited at several Harrison Rally Day shows and other shows in the area. I also taught two workshops with the Otsego Park District in 2001 and took workshops with Miles Batt (1989), Tony Couch (2008) and Janet Walsh (2009).
My life began when I met my husband 40 years ago while taking a figure skating lessons. Jim and I are members of the Bowling Green Skating Club and have been featured skaters since 1989 in the Ice Horizons shows and we still compete as a pair team and individually. We now live in Genoa, at Toussaint Airpark, and since my husband has his flying license and two planes, we enjoy the freedom of flying.
The watercolor paintings of Debbie Marlowe are on display at the Way Gallery (lower level, Way Public Library). This free exhibit is open to the public during regular operating hours of the library.
